thanks. I need to experiment a bit more, I have been fiddling with the server clock and there definitely seems to be a link with the iplayer listen again problem. On some settings of the clock iplayer listen again would work sporadically with some progammes/ players. I have set the clock to Etc/GMT and it seems to be working OK right now, will keep testing.
