The rebuffering is highly dependent on network load in 1.4.X since each 6 sec chunk requires a tcp connection to be set up. If you are going to get rebuffering it will be at network busy times - where I have measure the problem it has been noticeable at 4:30pm-7:00pm but I'd also expect early morning as well probably between 6:30am and 9:00am but I never got around to measuring that early. The morning after US election there were a more reports of rebuffering who never had rebuffering before. I don't know whether there a big news story today in the UK or perhaps weather problems affecting network.
