Annoying and confusing as it might be, I think this is what SlimServer is expecting to do. "No Album" is, as far as I can tell, treated like a real album name in SlimServer. This means that the 'various artists' album feature thinks all tracks with that album name actually belong together. This seems odd, but I think it's there on purpose to get tracks from multiple artists to be treated as in the same album because they have the same album name. Try adding "No Album" to the list of "common album names" on the "Server Settings->Behaviour" screen in slimserver. As described in the bug above, there is a checkbox in "server settings/behaviour" (not sure which version that was introduced in, but it's in my 6.5 development version) that allows you to turn off that behaviour - that might also help here. I have it turned on, however, and just add problem album names to the list of exceptions. The real workaround, of course, is to add album tags!
