Dick,

   Definitely Xfce4 because it relates to the X Window System, not the
underlying OS. I find it when following the Xfce menu Settings -> Session
and Startup. Saving the session upon logging out is a checkbox option there.
The desktop environment you use should have the equivalent somewhere.
