Hi, I'd like to tap the big brains in this group to get recommendations for building my own HTPC. The rough plan is basically a Linux box + Boxee/XBMC + DLNA server (for an IP TV in another room) + NAS + Android remote. I don't think I'll need a TV tuner card or DVD/Blu- ray player, but I could be convinced otherwise.
Any advice on what type of hardware to buy and the best place to buy it? What distribution to use? Does a NAS make sense and, if so, what specs? Would love to hear people's stories...
