Dear Friends, Am reminding everyone once again re PLUG's participation in the I.T. Expo 2008 (Sep. 30 to Oct. 2, 2008).
As I had stated before, I had few expectations from our participation other than to re - establish to all concerned the existence of PLUG and what it stands for. At the least, I am hoping that long - standing PLUG members who have not had the opportunity to meet one another would finally match faces against email addresses in this 3 day affair. In other words, I'm happy if it just turns out to be an EB. That may not sound like a lot, but it is still a first step towards re establishing PLUG. Now, to be frank, I am not the best person to do this. I am in the midst of a new business venture and I had also, in a previous email, explained how I'm completely clueless trying to run an org. In other words, I am the least qualified to do these things. Nevertheless, I recognize the value of pushing open source, and because of the fact that PLUG is composed of some of the most accomplished people in the local tech industry, the forming of an active org using PLUG's long standing reputation continues to make sense. PLUG is a worthwhile endeavor. I got my first job, learned my first code, produced my first project after learning things from PLUG. Not having PLUG is unthinkable. I am convinced others like me, who've been around the industry for a while, feel the same.
