-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I only have around 200 clients, I will try it and see what effect an sql based dhcpd have with regards to speed. My idea is that, dhcpd will only refresh configuration every (x) minutes or can be forced to refresh only if necessary. Since this is only serving a private ip, maybe having a secured web interface for reserving an IP is not much of a security threat.
Thanks for the links. Speed wise you may not want to do that as dhcpd is a very busy service at times and is better not to be doing lookups to a sql server all the time. http://freshmeat.net/projects/mydhcpgen/ that will generate the file for you from mysql. this may also help http://www.stephens-family.com/dhcp_hacks/ -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.7 (MingW32) iQEVAwUBR9EEUkCdvpjGOQwaAQJwCgf9GrO5IdidhLsrwMgP6BZgkcqFx0OE1HHb jOgOUtEYHt6dH7lZ9NYJPJA33vzzLQnHK9y6KlEheh+zD59nCDcJDJQUbwoZ5ID5 andWJUw7GTl2y9lsuz/9wOxUma6+pJcHz2zLP2iIF34rvKsAWZD3BNj5bXvYpFL3 ArV/ySdJujjE2ymWBQ2h4uIWCWPjb0GItMp0u+IkxyaeYUDlr3v2zM/0kRgYeyCe ZXtYdpHiN3T91Z4v5EhXZ69I/+Y17Hlm5484rnOI6+VcaK/fH6ZgXWsmbJu1TIQ5 E7eInuk0i/oxVob89fi1jT8hnCpSEwiRYzZUsTzGGR67OoiYKecBRg== =W7wX -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _________________________________________________ Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [email protected] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Read the Guidelines: http://linux.org.ph/lists Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
