Hello List! There has been notable changes since last update, so herewith is a quickie report on whats going on with PLUG:
*PLUG registration: * • On 12/4, Mr. Carlos Yu was kind enough to offer assistance re PLUG SEC reg'n. and even cover for any related cost(s). It was however recommended by Ian to continue instead with renewing previous PLUG registration since it will save time, and then update it afterwards. • On 12/10 Ian scanned and emailed to us pdfs for both PLUG's Board Resolution (rcvd by SEC April 27, 2005) and SEC Registration (dated June 16, 2003). These have been forwarded and received by Mr. Robert Brent Lipke who originally volunteered to help. It is now under process and pending news from Brent. *PLUG website:* • The Drupal based PLUG website is now up at http://linux.org.ph. • The Philippine Drupal User's Group ( http://groups.drupal.org/philippines) has started a thread (http://groups.drupal.org/node%252F7256) informing and consequently asking for volunteers to help. The ff. people have stepped up to help and will compose the core group responsible for creation of the site. My job is to coordinate: Jan Alvin Pabellon <[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Marc Robinsone <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Roger Filomeno <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Jan approached me on 12/6 and has since drummed up interest on the Drupal Group. We are collaborating on the project via Code.Google.com ( http://code.google.com/p/plug-website/). The very latest activity involves a (impressive!) mindmap created by Jan, over here: ( http://www.mindmeister.com/maps/show_public/3603439). There are constantly evolving topics so anyone who wishes to be updated can check them out. The most critical issue has to do with FTP access to the website, which we have yet to receive. Also, I have yet to receive access to publish on the site myself, so I can publish updates like these there for archive. * Final Note:* We wish to thank Mr. Yu and the terrific people at Drupal User's Group for helping out PLUG. My observation is that there is no lack of volunteers or those willing to donate even money to PLUG's cause. All efforts to organize have been met with approval and support. The challenges lie mostly in people's trepidation to step up and 'take the lead', which is understandably difficult given our lack of familiarity with one another. I am however confident that if we maintain a closely knit group who follow well defined functions we will meet our goals. We encourage everyone on the list to keep track of the Code.Google.com site, specifically the issues, and if you feel qualified to provide a solution or volunteer yourself, contact me and I will coordinate with the rest. That's it! You are now updated. Merry Christmas! Gabriel Mercado
