yeah. one of the interesting things that have come out of Virtual
Machines was that thing they did with Xen, where they ran a virtual
cluster via xen a few years back.

haven't played with kvm or qemu so can't comment if they play nice.
VMware has been around the block quite a few times. they're good.
you should also check out http://www.swsoft.com/ they're the parent
company of the guys who did Parallels for Mac. Swsoft has a server
product called Virtuozzo, which may also interest you.
citrix (the xen guys) work closely with microsoft, don't know how good
they are these days but you should check them out.
