Hey!

Well, i'm not an expert on this man but did you follow the installations
steps from nagios website? Are there pre-compiled binaries for your distro.?
Installing from source code is good but you have to read the pre-requisites.
Just my suggestion and check for directory/folder permissions and your
openssl and other files that goes with it(openssl).

I have installed nagios early 2006 and haven't had problems with it.
