just compare the cost of deployment for wire / wireless LAN and the corresponding user experience (100/1000Mbps vs 11/54/108Mbps). i've seen a wireless LAN deployment on desktops before and the users end up using a UTP cable after realizing that they don't move their desktop a lot and their workstation gains more performance while playing network games, hehehe .
