I did use Debian for a few years.. I personally liked the terminal-based installation. It was several years though, so I don't recall much about it. I also ran Gentoo for a few years... the installation was atrocious, especially building everything from source took ages. And keeping it up-to-date as well. When finances improved, I switched to macOS. Gives me best of both worlds (CLI and GUI), along with a reasonable plug-and-play experience for most peripherals. As of today, I am pretty much far away from using Linux as my primary desktop, though do have a CentOS 9 Stream running nearby.
