Hello All, Recently after applying a few system packages, I am facing an issue with "pulseaudio" daemon. The daemon doesn't start automatically at system boot up.
Every time I start back the system, I need to execute command = pulseadio --start from the terminal window & then only volume up/volume down/mute buttons will function. In addition, only if I start pulseaudio daemon, I get a prompt to select which kind of wired headset I am attaching to my DELL Latitude laptop. I tried to follow a few tweaks suggested at Ask Ubuntu but not helping. If I execute = systemctl --user enable pulseaudio Output = Failed to enable unit: Process org.freedesktop.systemd1 exited with status 1 Output of systemctl --user status dbus.service = Failed to get properties: Process org.freedesktop.systemd1 exited with status Output of sudo systemctl status dbus.service = ● dbus.service - D-Bus System Message Bus Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/dbus.service; static; vendor preset: e> Active: active (running) since Wed 2023-01-11 10:23:21 IST; 29min ago TriggeredBy: ● dbus.socket Docs: man:dbus-daemon(1) Main PID: 688 (dbus-daemon) Tasks: 1 (limit: 4915) Memory: 4.6M Output of laptop1:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/dbus start = [sudo] password for amey: Starting dbus (via systemctl): dbus.serviceFailed to start dbus.service: Operation refused, unit dbus.service may be requested by dependency only (it is configured to refuse manual start/stop). Thanks. Regards, Amey.
