Hello, @Amey - I had a chat with some freenode staff to get answers to your questions. Please find them inline.

This group registration activity will distribute the responsibility across members easing the "administrative stuff" that the staff member referred to. I also discovered last week that there is #punelug channel which was registered a long time ago but is completely dormant these days. I'd like to add this to the list of channels that we would own as part of the group registration. I'll go ahead with this process next weekend with the following IRC nicks as part of the primary group contacts for freenode: 1. Dexter_OSC 2. whereistejas 3. dhanesh95 If anyone has any queries or issues with this, please shout at me before Friday, 18th Sept 2020. Thanks! -- Dhanesh B.
