I share the sentiment. I am also a long term member of this list (for 18/19 years). The quality of posts of late has been poor. I once wrote individually to some of the people you have addressed above. Since there appears to be no institutional mechanism (or any discussion thereon) to shun the nuisance I just did the best I could individually: If I notice habitual obscure/non sense senders, I block them in my mailbox. (To be precise, I use procmail to redirect such senders' "stuff" to /dev/null). Moderation could be one solution (though I know it was once done away with after such demand).
