IMO, the posting issue has received the attention it was due. I second Shyamgopal's suggestion (his Google+ posting) to attend the PLUG meeting tomorrow. (I am Mumbai based otherwise I would have attended it definitely) My personal opinion, we have the following thing going for us: Pros: (a) we already have a mailing list, (b) people are familiar with it, (c) the archives are public and visible to any search engine (d) *any* email account works with mailman What is needed - fix it's configuration. The Cons on other proposal(s): (1) Google+ requires a Google account. Although it is free, I know some who want to stick with their old accounts. (2) *all* members here may not sign up in the new forum(s) - inertia. I know this from personal experience with two lists. Let us not rush into starting parallel activity. Let us work together to make it "the" forum @ Pune for discussing Linux and other FOSS related topics. Forking should be the last option (if anyone sincerely feels that there are no changes after the meeting and discussion thereof) -- Arun Khan PS - Although I do participate in forums @ LinkedIn etc., I prefer the push mode of mailing lists. _______________________________________ Pune GNU/Linux Users Group Mailing List
