there are few other things which i could see in other mail clients
like thunderbird or $look which i felt could be handy to work with
messages when the number of messages is not small...

in short i would say just give it a try and it might meet your real needs.

i have used thunderbird and others clients too, but for some
peculiarities always felt KMail meets *my* needs better even when it
had less bells and whistles...
