Sure. Yum performance continues to improve and this release has a much better version.

Also you have a yum reinstall option to reinstall packages easily for whatever reasons. The multi-lib policy has also changed so that it will install only the "best" architecture packages (ie) it wont install both x86 and x86-64 libs. This is configurable if you prefer the previous behaviour.

The major related improvement of course is PackageKit. PackageKit is a distribution neutral framework and frontend. Refer http://packagekit.org for more details.
