> Can anybody guide me for Setting up TataIndicom broadband on Fedora core 6 Haven't set up Tata Indicom but normally the idea remains the same across ISPs. They give you a modem/router and this connects to your PC/laptop through the ethernet port. The modem/router might be configured to give out DHCP IPs in case of unlimited connection plans then it is as simple as switching it on, plugging in the network cable and booting the PC (or restarting the network services). In case of limited plan, the command /sbin/ifup ppp0 is normally used to get the interface up. This would be done after you setup the connection (a one time affair) using adsl-setup (as root) from the console. Either way you might need some nameserver entries in your /etc/resolv.conf so would be good to check out the OpenDNS nameserver IPs eg your /etc/resolv.conf might just look like: # OpenDNS blocks nameserver 208.67.222.222 nameserver 208.67.220.220 :Sankarshan - -- You see things; and you say 'Why?'; But I dream things that never were; and I say 'Why not?' - George Bernard Shaw -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Fedora - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFFzQ1VXQZpNTcrCzMRAu3BAKCrE4yl8+7dFJvUuxSBKo2Ul5En4ACgojDj 1k1YMu1+iODBNpLfiAt+dW0= =94et -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- ______________________________________________________________________ Pune GNU/Linux Users Group Mailing List: (plug-mail@plug.org.in) List Information: http://plug.org.in/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/plug-mail Send 'help' to [EMAIL PROTECTED] for mailing instructions.
