Hello Plug Members,

As you might know, Java Is Now Open Source.

Hi,

As Sun announced, Sun's Java will now be under the GNU GPL subject to
the classpath exception. I don't really know much Java, but can
someone decipher the classpath exception license (link given below)?
Can someone give a more elaborate interpretation of the terms of the
license?

http://www.gnu.org/software/classpath/license.html

The classpath exception was formed when Red Hat donated a chunk of original gcj related work to GNU. It is functionally similar to the LGPL license.

Also, the Classpath exception doesn't seem to be listed in the list of
recognised opensource licesnces - http://www.opensource.org/licenses/

Exceptions dont go into the licenses list.
