I don't see an attitude problem with that. The code can be given out
after the competitions have finished. Thats what was done by the
project team I was guiding. Of course, all the clauses of open-source
distribution have to me adhered to at all times. Which means that if
the competition organisers ask for the copy of the software, it must
go with an open-source license.
