Just like any other OS/Software! This is very general answer to a very very general question. If you need some specific help you could send the details. Like the computer - Hard Disk size, how much space you have on that, etc. Or if you have any specific distribution in mind. Few years back, when I Installed Linux on my PC, I used Dummy's book and it provided me all the answers necessary to do the installation (dual boot, windows 98 and Linux - RedHat 6).
