Hello all,
I have stayed away from mandrake since 9.1
because of a fear of something happening to
my monitor.
Mandrake has a nasty System notification
called KDE_Logout.wav at KDE exit. This sounds
like your monitor going twang because of a surge.
This is the default sound at that.
Mandrake people need to fix this.
My opinion, others might disagree.
