I faced the same problem with my setup CD's. I ran media check again.
Result:CD's
that were reported fine the first time were now said to have failed the test.
I installed two systems (office & home) with these CD's regardless of the media
check result. I did not face any installation problems, but in both setups I
faced an X-Window problem.
My office system (Celeron 1.1GHz, i810 mobo w. onboard graphics, 512MB SDRAM)
has
the problem of the xserver restarting whenever I switch to one of the consoles
[ctrl-alt-F1]. I have been using this system since mid november and haven't
faced
any other problems.
My home system (AthlonXP 2400+, Asus mobo VIA chipset, S3 Unichrome graphics,
256MB DDR-RAM with ) was even worse, where the X-Server reused to start at all.
I
am yet to determine why. I currently use FC2 which works fine, except the
display
which runs on the 'VESA Generic' driver.
I'd say that you try it out on a spare HDD if you have one.

Vivek
