The main reason that I have found for people not using free software is basically non-availability. Not everyone knows about LUGs. Now, if you could download something like mandrake at home at an affordable price, there would be quite a few people downloading and using it. Although I agree that LUGs should try and buy boxed copies of distros, downloaded copies still rule the roost. I don't see why this should not continue.
