Now you're talking about a different subject. If you're an admin
wanting to be efficient in deploying, recovering, and troubleshooting
LVM, of course it makes sense on your personal computer.

So for admins and maybe dev-ops (whatever the monthly definition of
that term), it might indeed be fantastic. For the rest of us, it's
added complexity for very little gain.

I'm not sure, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think one can get the
benefits of a simple Ext4 filesystem on his computer, and then make an
LVM qemu guest VM to practice on. For those of us who aren't LVM
experts, straight Ext4 or btrfs or whatever is much easier to deal with
after a crash.
