I tried to logout, and after confirming, got a dialog box saying:
"Method "Logout" with signature "bb" on interface
"org.xfce.Session.Manager" doesn't exist"
And logging out does not happen
This seems quite a serious problem. I have no idea what to do about it.

Upgrading to 4.10.1 and installing systemd-shim (to fix other
problems caused by the migration from consolekit to logind) has made
this issue go away, so I guess we can call this closed.
