Capcom Just Dropped a Game of the Year Contender
Pragmata launched last week and it’s destroying expectations. This sci-fi
shooter from Capcom hit an 86 Metacritic score and 96% positive Steam reviews
(”Overwhelmingly Positive”) after just 1,800 reviews.
Here’s why everyone’s talking about it: You play as Hugh, an astronaut stuck on
a rogue AI-controlled moon base. Your only ally? Diana, a quirky android kid.
The twist: combat requires you to hack enemies while shooting them
simultaneously. One hand on the gun, one hand on hacking puzzles. Sounds
chaotic? It is—and reviewers say it’s genius.
GameSpot called it “one of my favorites of 2026 so far,” praising the emotional
punch of Hugh and Diana’s relationship (think The Last of Us vibes in space).
PC Gamer says it feels like classic Xbox 360-era gaming but refined for 2026:
tight 20-hour campaign, zero bloat, zero live-service nonsense.
What makes it special: Unlike most modern shooters, Pragmata doesn’t waste your
time. It’s a focused, single-player story with actual heart. Plus, Capcom built
it in their RE Engine with full path-tracing support—visually stunning on PC.
Released April 17 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 for around
$60. If you loved Resident Evil Requiem (Capcom’s other 2026 hit), this is your
next play.

Vampire Survivors Spinoff Hits Tomorrow—And It’s On Game Pass
Vampire Crawlers drops tomorrow, April 21, and it’s coming to Xbox Game Pass
day-one. If you’ve ever played Vampire Survivors (the addictive bullet-hell
that ate everyone’s life in 2022), you already know developer Poncle doesn’t
miss.
This time, they’re flipping the script: instead of top-down chaos, it’s a
first-person dungeon crawler with card-based roguelite mechanics. Build broken
decks, explore familiar Vampire Survivors locations from a new perspective, and
chain combos until you hit infinite damage (yes, really).
The “Turboturn System” lets you play at your own pace: take your time being
tactical, or speed-run turns as fast as humanly possible. Either way, the math
always works out.
Pricing: $9.99 across all platforms (10% launch discount on Steam). Coming to
PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Switch, and Switch 2 tomorrow. Mobile (iOS/Android)
later in 2026.
PC Gamer’s review was mixed (called it “repetitive”), but early Steam players
are loving it. With Game Pass day-one access, there’s zero reason not to try it
if you’re subscribed.

Peter Molyneux’s “Final Game” Launches This Tuesday
Masters of Albion, the new god game from Fable creator Peter Molyneux, hits
Steam Early Access on April 22 for $24.99 (10% launch discount).
Molyneux (creator of Black & White, Fable, Dungeon Keeper) is calling this his
last game ever after 43 years in the industry. It blends city-building,
real-time combat, and god-game mechanics into one ambitious package.
How it works: By day, you build and manage towns with total freedom (fling
villagers into the sea if you want). By night, defend against monsters in
real-time combat. Think Black & White meets Fable meets Dungeon Keeper.
The team behind it includes devs from those exact games—Mark Healey
(LittleBigPlanet), Russell Shaw (Fable), and more. Molyneux says it’s his
“redemption” after overpromising on past projects (Curiosity, Godus).
Early Access details: Chapter One launches Tuesday with a full story. New areas
and refinements added throughout the year-long Early Access period. First-week
buyers get an exclusive “Founders Paint Pack” (limited colors).
PC Gamer’s hands-on was skeptical: they worry it’s trying to do too much
without excelling at any one thing. But others are calling it “a best-of
Molyneux hits collection.”
Worth trying? If you’re a Fable or god-game fan, probably yes. If you’re
skeptical of Molyneux’s promises... maybe wait for reviews.
