Howdy! I write from this address as a follow-up to emails some months ago about contributing to Asterisk on Trixie. Please consider the patches applied to my forked repo, specifically in the "trixie" branch, from where I am sourcing for building and signing asterisk debs that work on trixie. (This builds on previous work in my "bookworm-backports" branch.)
https://salsa.debian.org/cmaj/asterisk/-/compare/debian%2Flatest...trixie?from_project_id=9 Big thanks to Jonas for improving the gbp build situation back in January. My procedure was very much in line with steps in asterisk/debian/gbp.conf -- along with a few helpers from Jonas' email reply to Martin posted around the same time as the gbp improvements: https://alioth-lists.debian.net/pipermail/pkg-voip-maintainers/2025-January/039158.html Futher, my "trixie" branch also resolves QA concerns regarding an old IMAP library by removing IMAP from the Asterisk voicemail backends (leaving ODBC and filesystem voicemail backends in-tact): https://qa.debian.org/excuses.php?package=asterisk I do not believe that there are any further technical or security reasons preventing Asterisk from being included in Trixie. Finally, I commit to continuing to maintain the asterisk packages for the foreseeable future -- with help from the many volunteers who've offered to help over the past year or so on this list, as well as the upstream developers -- and kindly request y'alls support to close Bug #1031046 (next email :-) Kind regards, -- Chris Maj [email protected] +1.920.574.9568 <//+19205749568> Open Source Solutions Advocate, Sangoma US Inc Free downloads at Asterisk.org and FreePBX.org
