Hello, I asked ModemManager upstream about this. The problem is in the libqmi library, and it is *supposed* to be fixed in libqmi version 1.12. I cannot verify this myself though, as I don't think I have an old enough Gobi device (found nothing pre Gobi 2k in my box of modems).
As your bug report shows, the jessie libqmi version is 1.10: ii libqmi-glib1 1.10.2-2 Is it possible for you to retest with the newer modemmanager and libqmi versions in sid? Or maybe backport the newer libqmi if you find that more convenient?
