Package: pipewire-jack Version: 1.0.3-1 Severity: normal In my point of view it is not clearly understandable fromthe package desciptions or package docs how pipewire-jack and libspa-0.2-jack relate. I understood that pipewire-jack, aside from being a plugin, is a implementation of a JACK server based on JACK API and pipewire. And, I understood libspa-0.2-jack is a lib which is needed for pipewire to connect to a JACK server. These are two different things imho.
But I learned that JACK client applications can not connect to pipewire-jack when libspa-0.2-jack is not installed. Thus, libspa-0.2-jack is too needed when JACK clients want to connect to pipewire-jack, basically making it a dependency? Maybe I am wrong, but more details in the package descriptions could clarify things a bid more. Tried with https://wiki.debian.org/PipeWire, but that was not clear either on how to deal with JACK native vs. JACK Pipewire setups. -- System Information: Debian Release: trixie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.6.15-rt-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages pipewire-jack depends on: ii libc6 2.37-15 ii libpipewire-0.3-0 1.0.3-1 ii pipewire 1.0.3-1 pipewire-jack recommends no packages. pipewire-jack suggests no packages. -- no debconf information _______________________________________________ Pkg-utopia-maintainers mailing list Pkg-utopia-maintainers@alioth-lists.debian.net https://alioth-lists.debian.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-utopia-maintainers
