--- Begin Message ---Package: systemd-cron Version: 1.5.4-2 Severity: wishlist With cron the environment variables are all placed in one place instead of being individually defined in each cron job. With systemd-cron, each generated service gets an individually generated Environment property instead of inheriting the same environment variables as every other cron job. This should be changed to use EnvironmentFile in .service so that each cron job does not duplicate the set of environment variables. -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing-debug APT policy: (900, 'testing-debug'), (900, 'testing'), (860, 'testing-proposed-updates'), (800, 'unstable-debug'), (800, 'unstable'), (790, 'buildd-unstable'), (700, 'experimental-debug'), (700, 'experimental'), (690, 'buildd-experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.6.0-trunk-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_AU.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages systemd-cron depends on: ii init-system-helpers 1.33 ii libc6 2.22-9 pn python3:any <none> ii systemd-sysv 230-1 Versions of packages systemd-cron recommends: ii exim4 4.87-3 ii exim4-daemon-light [mail-transport-agent] 4.87-3 systemd-cron suggests no packages. -- bye, pabs https://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise

--- Begin Message ---Hi Paul, I'm now closing this bug. As I understand, the general meaning of "wontfix" is that the maintainer won't fix himself the bug but let somehow the door open to someone else to fix the bug. I'm now in the Python -> C rewrite of this tool and I realise/regret some dubious feature I have added/accepted over the years that make the whole thing more complex than needed and increase the maintenance cost. So this one would be denied as a Debian patch and also as an upstream patch too. A review of the version currently in sid is welcome. Greetings,
