Sometimes systemctl fails with
systemctl: Failed to get D-Bus connection: Unknown error -1
Since dbus is some IPC mechanism systemctl should provide at least
information about the peer it was trying to reach.

I've decided to close this bug report, as it is to unspecific.
If you have specific use cases where the error message is too generic,
please let use know. As of now, this bug report is not really actionable.
