Do you have a PS/2 keyboard? This should require any special (USB)
kernel modules.

That sounds like a reasonable plan.

Yes, installing the udev package will update the initramfs of the
currently running kernel.

Get a copy of the 240-2 udev package (along with libudev 240-2) and then
