What exactly is the problem with build-depending on udev? On most systems it will be installed anyway and the footprint of udev and its dependencies is not that much. > File udev.pc is for development and compilation of other packages, > therefore it should be in separate some -dev package. What exactly do you need from udev.pc? If you link against libudev, you want libudev.pc which is shipped in libudev-dev. Splitting out only udev.pc into a new binary package udev-dev seems a bit like overkill. Regards, Michael
