Hi Vincent,
this has been fixed upstream but not released yet - but will be fixed in
YAZ 4.0.2. It is a problem in the test code and not in the YAZ library
itself.
Ok. For now, 4.0.1 is only in experimental. If you think the package
is ok,
I will try to rebuild packages that use libyaz with this new version.
Do you expect breakage (ie changes in the API ?)
Not from 4.0.1 to 4.0.2.. But from 3 to 4 API was changed. So libyaz4,
libyaz4-dev etc..
Ok. So, as I do not really want to have both yaz 3.X and 4.Y in Debian
(unless you told me there is really a good reason for it), it means
that rdepends of libyaz3 will need to be ported to yaz4.
apt-cache rdepends libyaz3 tell me that (removing binary packages of yaz
from the list) there are 3 packages involved (in CC of this mail).
tellico
libnet-z3950-zoom-perl
libzoom-ruby1.8
Can their maintainer tell me if they still work with libyaz4 (available in
experimental) ?
Regards,
Vincent
PS: as my first daughter is born two days ago, I will not have a lot of
times to manage this library transition...

If yes, other packages will need to be adapted before the next step
that will be to upload 4.0.1 or 4.0.2 to unstable

Vincent
