Hi, I have uploaded to experimental a package that splits the udev module from the main pulseaudio package. The idea is that output to a physical device is not really necessary, and so a Recommended package is thus best. This way, one could have a pulseaudio server running in a container that talks to a second pulseaudio server running on the host, and not need udev (that doesn't run on containers).
