Package: pulseaudio
Version: 0.9.15-2
Severity: normal

Hello:

Over 2 days ago, pulseaudio stopped working at all, not even starting at boot-up
My first shot was to upgrade to sid's package. However, the packages wouldn't
even get configured (dpkg-reconfigure wasn't working with it).
After this, I downgraded.

Searching for answers, I gave a try at commenting out the module-hal-detect in
/etc/pulse/default.pa.

This allowed pulseaudio to start at bootup, however, the sound was still gone.

After running pulseaudio -v -v and editing default.pa, what worked for me was,
with a default setup in default.pa, was commenting out
load module-console-kit.

I've been having some 'fake' troubles with dbus at startup, with gnome-settings
claiming that dbus was not operative. However, I am not experiencing problems
with dbus at all, and the daemon just runs. I mention this in case it is not
totally unrelated, and since that error hit me the day before the pulseaudio
one (meaning after one reboot).

Thanks for the job on pulseaudio.

Omar
