I just wanted to confirm that applying the patch you proposed fixes the problem for me. Also I enabled v4l2, since the ffmpeg/kodi is making use of v4l2 to decode video streams. I have not tested the LD_PRELOAD option you mentined in the rules file (I did not understand how that would work exactly). Many thanks for the support.
