It has been planned to remove the libav source package from unstable, once the transition to ffmpeg is fully finished. Unfortunately this transition is currently blocked by two packages: * freerdp needs a new upstream version, but the maintainers are unresponsive. (#788557) * vtk6 still has old binaries using Libav in testing, because the uncoordinated vtk6.1 -> vtk6.2 transition broke some of its reverese dependencies. (#793621) Help with any of these would be much appreciated.
