Not sure what kind of information would be useful here. mpv v0.6.0 has just been released and that's pretty much what will get in jessie (there are going to be a couple of bugfix releases before the freeze though). The mpv package description has a short list of changes from mplayer2, but I haven't touched it in a while so it may be a little outdated. If needed I can prepare a better list of improvements vs mplayer/mplayer2. Also, worth mentioning maybe is that a) mpv's command-line options are not compatible with the mplayer ones and that b) since mpv dropped some old mplayer code in favor of libav/ffmpeg features, there may be some incompatibilities there as well (also, considering that Debian uses libav instead of ffmpeg, some mpv features work better with ffmpeg or don't work at all with libav).
