Package: mpg123 Version: 1.16.0-1 Severity: wishlist File: /usr/lib/mime/packages/mpg123
This is two ideas for the mailcap of mpg123, - Run mpg123.bin to be sure of getting the mpg123 program in case update-alternatives has selected something else (like mpg321). - Run "-C -v" when on a tty for interactiveness. # "mpg123 -C -v" for keyboard controls and progress line on a terminal. # # "mpg123 -q" quiet when no tty. In this case read stdin since that # might let run-mailcap or similar pipe straight in, no temp file. # # ENHANCE-ME: Should have test="..." in these entries so they're only # used if audio output is possible by mpg123's configured or selected # methods. That might mean user in the "audio" group, or jack daemon # running, etc. Would playing an empty mp3 be a good enough test? # Perhaps mpg123 could help by some sort of "mpg123 --test-output". # audio/mpeg; /usr/bin/mpg123.bin -C -v '%s'; needsterminal; description="MPEG Audio"; priority=5 audio/mpeg; /usr/bin/mpg123.bin -q -; description="MPEG Audio"; priority=5 -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_AU.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages mpg123 depends on: ii libc6 2.17-93 ii libltdl7 2.4.2-1.3 ii libmpg123-0 1.16.0-1 Versions of packages mpg123 recommends: ii libasound2 1.0.27.2-3 ii libjack-jackd2-0 [libjack-0.116] 1.9.9.5+20130622git7de15e7a-1 ii libopenal1 1:1.14-4 ii oss-compat 4 Versions of packages mpg123 suggests: ii alsa-utils 1.0.27.2-1 pn jackd <none> pn nas <none> ii oss-compat 4 pn oss4-base <none> pn pulseaudio <none> -- no debconf information _______________________________________________ pkg-multimedia-maintainers mailing list pkg-multimedia-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-multimedia-maintainers
