Hi,
I sincerely apologize for the spam bomb I have caused yesterday on
pkg-multimedia-commits. I have used git-import-orig --upstream-vcs-tag
parameter to import all upstream libav commits, and our commit hook
happily send an email for all 32K commits upstream.
This is clearly not acceptable, I really should have disabled the
commit hook first.
Since this process has turned out to be error prone, I think that
maybe the commit hook can be made smarter to send out out a summary of
changes instead of individual commit mails on merges? I figure it
would be tricky to specify what the corner cases and in what case we
want the commit diffs instead.
Does anyone claim maintainership of the commit hooks, or shall I give it a shot?
