Hi Sebastian, sorry for the late reply. I've just tried gnome-mplayer/1.0.8-1 (with mplayer2/2.0-554-gf63dbad-1 +b1) and I am still able to reproduce the issue with seemingly all the videos at hand: when I start gnome-mplayer the canvas is initially zero-height until I press [Ctrl+1]. > Could you try it with another desktop environment?
