Bug report if necessary, and/or fix the problem forthwith.

vlc seems not able to play properly 5.1 stream on alsa surround5.1.

Your bug report has been in need of input for more than a year. Due to lack of 
response from you, I assume that the problem was already resolved in newer VLC 
versions.
