Just FYI, our friends in gentoo seem to have managed to build a version of blender that works with libav 9, please see the following links: http://packages.gentoo.org/package/media-gfx/blender https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443180 http://sources.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/gentoo-x86/media-gfx/blender/ Maybe 2.64a does work out of the box?
