Hello,

This is a behaviour which seems to happen since VLC 2.0.
Not easy to determine the cause of it, but there is some kind of
unresponsiveness to actions with VLC interface (volume change being the
most notable one).
I am unsure of what circumstances make this effect aggravated.
When the video is paused, things go back to normal for a time.

Not a very useful bugreport, but still the annoyance is visible.

Thanks for any comments on this.

There is always some minimal latency as the input thread needs to hit a "safe"
point where it can change course. This is not fixable and it has been that way
for as long as VLC existed.

Audio volume is slower than before because it now interacts with the
PulseAudio daemon. I don't see any way to make it faster without compromising
the features and system integration.
