On some sites gecko-mediaplayer appears, but not embedded as it should,
and also does nothing.
Reverting to version 0.9.9.2-1, no such problem, it embeds showing the video.

thanks for tracking this down. According to [1] MediaWrap is not compatible with
any iceweasel version that is currently in testing or unstable. And since this
issue only affects the version of gecko-mediaplayer in testing and unstable I'm
closing this bug.
