Upstream code depends on python-gtk2, so not _completely_ pointless. > and itself pulls in many more unnecessary depends. Please report stupidity of python-gtk2 to python-gtk2, not here. > This is insane. That is a strong accusation. I feel offended by it. Please relax your tone! It seems the only dependency on python-gtk - morituri/common/taskgtk.py - is not used anywhere else in the code, and can therefore be skipped. Thanks for (indirectly) bringing that one to our attention! That was _one_ unnecessary dependency. Could you please elaborate on why other (direct!) dependencies are (technically, not just philosophically) unnecessary. > I decided to build morituri from source and here are the actual real > world build deps I needed: Did you closely analyse the code somehow, or simply rip out dependencies and tried if it worked for the tasks you tried? If you have some concrete suggestions to help improve the packaging, it is highly appreciated.
