Dear fellow pkg-multimedias,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "v4l2loopback".

* Package name    : v4l2loopback
  Version         : 0.2-1
  Upstream Author : IOhannes m zmoelnig <zmoel...@iem.at>
* URL             : http://github.com/umlaeute/v4l2loopback/
* License         : GPL
  Section         : graphics
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : v4l2loopback modules for linux

It builds these binary packages:
v4l2loopback-source - source for the v4l2loopback driver

The package appears to be lintian clean.

The upload would fix these bugs: 598241

My motivation for maintaining this package is: [fill in].

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:
- URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/v/v4l2loopback
- Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable
main contrib non-free
- dget

v4l2loopback is a module, that allows you to create "virtual video
devices". normal (v4l2-capable) applications will read these devices as
if they were ordinary video devices, but the video will not be read from
e.g. a capture card but instead it is generated by another application.

there's a similar module already in debian called "vloopback", but this
only uses the old and deprecated v4l1-API. the v4l2loopback module uses
(as the name suggests) the (nopt-so-new-anymore) v4l2-API.

my original idea was to maintain this kernel-module in the
pkg-multimedia collective.
however, on IRC reinhard told me, that it would probably be a better
idea to keep it out of pkg-multimedia.
Therefore i used collab-maint for the git repository:
http://git.debian.org/?p=collab-maint/v4l2loopback.git;a=summary

I would be glad if someone uploaded this package for me.
(and/or even better, become a permanent sponsor)

Cheers,
 IOhannes m zmölnig

@jonas: yes it uses cdbs :-) however, i would have loved it if cdbs had
more support for kernel-modules; there seems to be a project by frederic
briere to add this (http://git.fbriere.net/cdbs-kernel-module.git/) but
apparantly it's still not in upstream...
